In this week’s Staff Spotlight, we have *drumroll*…Mrs. McIntire!
Mrs. McIntire is the SHS secretary, however, she does more for the school than her job description implies. Being the secretary means she helps the substitutes sign-in and get to their assigned classrooms and answer any questions they may have. She orders the things the teachers, the principals, or the office staff need, like paper, pencils, notebooks, or whatever is requested. She is the best at helping others!
Mrs. McIntire helps the principals with whatever they need so that they can manage the school better. She generates purchase orders for teachers and staff, overseeing the process from beginning to end which means she is the gatekeeper and guru for all things involving purchasing. She doesn’t just answer phone calls. Mrs. McIntire is the SHS embodiment of a Wikipedia page. She directs and answers any questions that parents or guardians may have .
Another hat that can be seen on Mrs. McIntire…Announcer! She does the school announcements in the morning, telling us what’s happening that week. She also congratulates our Performing Arts, Academic, and Sports teams for their accomplishments. She can act as the nurse with the smaller situations like medicine, Band-Aids, and ice/heat packs. She makes maintenance requests for the school, if it can’t be fixed by the school maintenance team. Even in a case of an emergency, Mrs. McIntire is on the paging system letting us know what to do.
Mrs. McIntire is a class of 2026 sponsor along with Mrs. Perdue and Ms. Jones. She also helps those teachers with the SHS Student Council. While everyone does their part, Mrs. McIntire goes above and beyond by making dinners for teachers during parent-teacher conferences, designing teachers’ shirts to make sure they have a lot of Bulldog spirit, and participating in dress-up days throughout the year.
Mrs. McIntire is a very supportive staff member and has a lot of spirit for the school. She loves what she does on and off the job. She’s a mom, a friend, a wife, and so much more. Mrs. McIntire is one of the most important and influential employees of the Skiatook school district and is one of the best representations of what it means to be a Bulldog!
